Job Description

We have partnered with Yettel on the recruitment process for a key leadership role within their new media team. As part of this initiative, we are supporting the selection process for the Content Director position.

The Content Director is responsible for defining, developing, and optimizing the content strategy, with the objective of increasing viewership, driving engagement, and supporting subscriber growth and retention. This role ensures that the content offering remains competitive, data-driven, and aligned with audience preferences, while maximizing the commercial impact of the catalogue.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Strategy

  • Define and execute the short- and long-term content strategy for the platform, ensuring the local specific content needs of both B2C and D2C customers are met
  • Shape the structure of the content portfolio (original productions, exclusives, acquisitions, library content).
  • Propose and evaluate investments in original and premium content.
  • Monitor OTT market trends and evolving audience behavior.

2. Content Curation & Catalogue Management

  • Oversee content curation and optimization across the platform.
  • Decide on prioritization and placement of titles (homepage, featured sections, thematic collections).
  • Ensure timely launch of new titles and seasons.

3. Performance Analytics & Optimization

  • Analyse performance data including viewership, engagement, retention, and completion rates.
  • Identify content that drives subscriber acquisition and reduces churn.
  • Recommend optimization actions based on insights (content positioning, collections, promotional focus).
  • Contribute to defining content-related KPIs and performance benchmarks.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Marketing on major content launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to enhance content discovery, recommendation logic, and user experience.
  • Contribute to content budget planning and forecasting.

5. Rights Management & Planning

  • Participate in acquisition planning and evaluation of licensing opportunities.
  • Monitor licensing windows and ensure proactive renewal or replacement planning.
  • Align content availability with strategic priorities and campaign timelines.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in OTT, streaming, TV, digital media, or content strategy
  • Strong understanding of OTT platforms, audience behavior, and media trends
  • Experience in some or all of the following areas: content acquisition, content production, scheduling,  programming, and catalogue management
  • Analytical mindset with experience interpreting performance and engagement data
  • Knowledge of content licensing and rights management
  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial awareness and experience with content budgeting/planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content/analytics tools
  • Fluent in English and preferred Serbian (written and spoken)
  • Strategic, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
