Job Description
We have partnered with Wörwag Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, a family-owned and internationally operating pharmaceutical company. Wörwag Pharma specializes in the development and marketing of biofactor-based preparations available exclusively in pharmacies. Their portfolio includes prescription drugs, OTC products, and supplements, with a therapeutic focus on diabetic comorbidities, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, and immune system support.
In order to support their business expansion, we are looking for motivated candidates for position Product Manager.
The Product Manager – OTC is responsible for developing, implementing and continuously optimizing the marketing strategy for the assigned OTC portfolio across the West Balkan Region, with a primary focus on Serbia. The region includes Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
The role is responsible for driving brand growth, increasing market share and profitability, and ensuring successful product lifecycle management across the region while adapting marketing activities to local market needs.
The position combines strategic planning with hands-on execution, with a strong focus on digital marketing, media planning and consumer-oriented brand management. The Product Manager works in a matrix organization, closely collaborating with Sales, Medical, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain and regional Marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute brand strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare annual marketing plans and long-term brand development plans.
- Manage the complete product lifecycle for assigned brands.
- Develop and maintain the product roadmap for the assigned OTC portfolio.
- Communicate the product roadmap across cross-functional teams and ensure successful execution.
- Define brand positioning and value proposition for assigned brands.
- Identify portfolio growth opportunities and recommend new product launches.
- Monitor brand performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Marketing Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
- Prepare promotional plans and marketing materials.
- Manage the implementation of marketing activities in accordance with approved timelines and budgets.
- Monitor brand performance, profitability and marketing ROI.
- Support Product P&L management and recommend actions to maximize business performance.
- Manage relationships with external marketing, digital and media agencies.
- Ensure all promotional activities comply with internal procedures and applicable regulations.
- Prepare business cases for new product opportunities and portfolio expansion.
- Plan and coordinate participation in scientific meetings, congresses, educational events and promotional activities.
Digital Marketing & Media
- Develop and implement digital marketing strategies for assigned brands.
- Plan and manage digital and media campaigns across relevant channels.
- Collaborate with digital, creative and media agencies.
- Monitor campaign performance using relevant KPIs and optimize activities accordingly.
- Identify and implement innovative digital marketing initiatives.
- Monitor digital performance metrics and consumer engagement across digital channels.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen consumer engagement and brand awareness through digital channels.
Market & Business Analysis
- Continuously monitor market trends, consumer behavior, clinical evidence relevant to the assigned portfolio and competitive landscape.
- Conduct market assessments and SWOT analyses.
- Monitor sales performance, market share and business KPIs.
- Prepare sales forecasts and business recommendations based on market data.
- Collect and analyze customer, healthcare professional and market insights to continuously optimize brand strategy.
Sales Force Support
- Work closely with Sales Managers and Field Force to ensure effective execution of marketing initiatives.
- Develop sales tools and promotional materials.
- Deliver product and campaign training to the Sales Team.
- Participate in field visits to better understand customer needs and market opportunities.
- Provide continuous product and marketing training to Sales teams and support onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure alignment between marketing strategy and field execution.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Medical, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Finance and Sales departments.
- Participate in Brand Review Meetings and Business Reviews.
- Support cross-functional projects related to portfolio development and product launches.
Requirements
Education
• University degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or Dentistry (mandatory)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of Product Management experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing OTC products (mandatory).
- Experience managing multi-country or regional portfolios is considered an advantage.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing marketing strategies for OTC brands.
- Experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies is preferred.
- Experience with product launches is considered an advantage.
- Experience with hepatoprotective products is considered an advantage.
- Experience with prescription (Rx) products or Medical Marketing is considered a plus.
